ENG103: Databases for Scholarly Sources

Databases for Scholarly Articles

What is a Database?

A database is a collection of organized and stored information designed for search and retrieval. Databases come in various forms and can be used for different applications.

McGrath Library subscribes to research databases. Research databases are electronic platforms that hold records of scholarly, and non-scholarly, journal, magazine, and newspaper articles. Most importantly, research databases are searchable.

While the platforms may look different, the techniques we used to search databases are the same and can be applied in any database we use!
